Central Park

Blondie and I took a trip up to Central Park a few weekends ago to picnic and relax. We crashed out in some shade, and people watched around the lake for a bit, before heading into the park to explore further. Central Park is so big that even though we've been up there like 10 times, we've seen only a tiny bit of what it has to offer.

Enjoying the scenery, beautiful day to be out and about in NYC

We hit up 2 spots I've been wanting to see - the boat pond and the Alice In Wonderland statue. The boat pond you will probably recognize from a billion movies set in NYC - I think it even makes an appearance in When Harry Met Sally when they are speed walking in the park.

Striking a pose, boat pond!

And the Alice in Wonderland statue is just something I had read about and wanted to see.

We caught the tail end of about 3 days where the sun setting tracks perfectly down the streets of Manhattan. It's very very cool to see, but it does kill your eyes if you don't have your sunglasses.

In April (I think it's April), it's the opposite and the sun rising comes straight down the streets.

Quite the catch-up coming

First on tap, a trip to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert on Broadway! Blondie had gone to The Land of Cheese for a family camping trip, and I decided that I needed to get some drag queens and some music and some Broadway into my day - and what better way to do that than by combining all 3 into what felt like the biggest party on Broadway!

1 day after I saw this play, it won Best Costume Design at the 2011 Tony Awards.

I seriously want to make out with this play.
