Willie Watching

Hahaha - cracking myself up. Who doesn't like to Willie watch??? So last night = Radio City Music Hall + Willie Nelson + Blondie + a few beers + some of the funniest song lyrics I've ever heard.

All that adds up to pure heaven. One of the best nights of my life - it happened last night.

Willie is here!

Yes, I own cowboy boots. Yes, I'm wearing them inside RCMH

The man, the myth, the legend - I swear he's dead center in this picture

The Real Gamblers of Atlantic City

It's a good thing I don't live any closer to a major gambling city - I would be screwed. Blondie and I took off to AC yesterday to spend the day gambling - we gave Harrah's a lot of our money, but they gave us a fabulous time in return. I don't have a lot of pictures, because well, to be quite honest, I was too focused on shooting dice, playing poker, and trying to add to 21 to remember to snap some shots.

Lunch time! Blondie enjoying some rum - let's get rum dumb!

Yum... Bellini's

Oh, BTW - Ratt will be in AC in August. I think I want to go. How lame and/or old does this make me???

Viva la France!

The French rule - I've known this since I was like 10 and got drug to a soccer game where the sister city to Lexington (in France) was over playing our teams here. But now, Blondie and everyone who lives in Brooklyn knows it too. That's right folks, Bastille Day came to Brooklyn!

Me and a guillotine. I think I look scarier

From bocce ball (or whatever they call it over there - le ballz bochay?) to champagne cocktails on the street to skateboarding teenagers falling all over the place to cupcakes being given out on the street... Okay, so not all of that is French, but eh. I don't care.

Bocce ball!

Hanging with the one who is blonde

Screeeeeeeeeeew Tape-puh!

Blondie and I decided to culture-fy ourselves on Saturday and hit up our first off-Broadway play - The Screwtape Letters. Not only was it cheaper than a Broadway production, it was closer to our house, and just as f'ing good as the real thing.

The play was set in hell, and basically was a 1-man show of a devil's aide dictating letters to his nephew who was out on earth recruiting people away from god. It was sooooo good! The main actor rocked my world - he managed to give me the chills while making me laugh. And the set was just flat out f'ing creepy.

The only downside was that we both left the play in desperate need of a drink - funny though, church always does that to me too.

Give my regards to off-Broadway???

Greenwich Village

It was a gorgeous day on Sunday - a perfect day to be poking around in the city. Blondie and I did a walking tour of Greenwich Village - the tour was no bueno, but exploring the city still gives me a thrill.

From "Barefoot in the Park" - the outside of the house Jane Fonda's character supposedly rented her apartment in

Old stables, turned into super expensive houses

Hanging out in Washington Square Park

Blondie, enjoying some margs on a patio

Possibly the best graffiti ever?

Roller Derby! Whip it biznitches!

OMG. I'm in love with Roller Derby. I want to pass it a note that reads "Do you like me? Check yes or no. Don't put maybe!"

Blondie and I hit up a Gotham Girls game on Saturday night and watched the Queens of Pain battle it out against the Brooklyn Bombshells. We randomly decided to root for the Queens of Pain (guy dressed in S&M gear as a mascot? Hells yes I will cheer for you!).

They actually won. OMG. But since they beat another NYC team, does it really count as 1-4 for our team cheering experiences? I can't figure it out.

Me! With the women I'd leave Blondie for! ;)

Preshow, the introductions

Action, action, we want action!

Also, apparently, my great grandmother was a total Roller Derby freak too! Tres cool!

We're 0 for 4

So go us. Team Bad Luck and Jinxy Jinxerpants. We've been to see 4 professional sports team based out of NYC now, and guess what? Every single game we've been to, the NYC team has lost.

One of these losses was WOOT (Yankees!). One was a toss-up (the Knicks lost to the Bucks). But the other 2...

So we were off to Queens to see a Mets game on Wed evening - their new stadium was absolutely beautiful. And honestly, they had the best food I've ever had at a ballpark. Their "condiment" stand included fresh jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, and GRILLED ONIONS AND MUSHROOMS. Holy shit people!

GOOOOO METS!

Running towards first - would've been better to win though

Mets sign - yes, we live here

And finally, what you've been waiting for

FIREWORKS! FIREWORKS! FIREWORKS!

I love Central Park, put another tree in my path baby!

I'm totally singing "I love Rock and Roll" now, thanks to my title. I'm a little lame.

Okay, so it's like "I'm going to spontaneously combust" hot outside, and what do we decide to do? That's right, we go outside. And the park was jammed. It killed me.

Literary Walk, the main "drag" of the park

A beautiful fountain. We wanted to swim in it

Little Italy

Who doesn't love pasta? Who doesn't love little parts of the city that are designed to look like someplace else? It's like Epcot!

After dinner, we strolled down the main drag. God, even the lights remind me of DisneyWorld.

I definitely live in NYC

Finally - we made it out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We've been saving the more touristy things like this to do with others - we know that everyone that visits will want to do the tour, so we held off instead of going on our own.

The boat ride out was fabulous. Pulling out from the pier.

Lady Liberty herself

Strike a pose

Completely random, but statue of the designer of the Eiffel Tower

Watching her walk

A ferry over to Ellis Island afterwards - we toured the Immigration Museum and found it amazing. The exhibits were incredible, and I highly recommend this to anyone who comes to visit. It's also free (after you buy your ticket to the Statue of Liberty) which I found refreshing.

The museum - you were processed here, lived here, medical examinations here, everything here

Photos when you first walk in

The 3rd floor (dormitory) overlooking the receiving room

What a great trip - one of my favorite things we've done so far.

I visit Times Square at night

I love this nutty city. Monday night - steaming hot, kind of late - yet still packed to the rim with people.

Watching ourselves on the big screen - this is me taking a picture of someone taking a picture of me. Can you see us?
